| World above Chicago By DALE GANZOW
Chicago has a great skyline, but to get above it all gives you an even better perspective of this fantastic city. There are a couple favorite places that locals and visitors like to go to for these sensational views, the fastest elevators in the world, as well as some extraordinary experiences. And, they’re just steps from popular Chicago hotels.
The Skydeck atop the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) is the tallest in the City and is open daily offering spectacular views spanning up to four states, a great Chicago experience full of interactive exhibits and…the Ledge, a glass |

As gasoline prices continue to skyrocket, we still need to get away from time to time. The good news is that there are many options in and around Chicago with tons of affordable and fun getaways for everyone.
This month we’re looking at a getaway that takes you sky high above it all. Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and the John Hancock building is world class too.
It’s easy to take in one or both of these spectacles as they’re so close to everything you’ll want to do in Chicago. The best time to go though is an hour before sunset to catch daylight, twilight and nighttime.
Baseball season is open now, too, so root root for those Cubbies, Sox or Brewers. A great family getaway starts with a hearty breakfast at a neighborhood favorite, a.baseball game and a trip “over the top” to either Willis Tower or the Hancock Building.
